From New Hampshire comes Randy and his ‘91 1200 Sportster. To date, Randy’s pretty much stuck with basic maintenance to keep his bike on the road. However, he’s added a Screamin’ Eagle air cleaner and Progressive Suspension springs in the front forks for better performance, and tossed the stock seat for a more comfortable Mustang saddle. A subtle custom touch comes courtesy of a repainted factory tank done in blue with silver ghost flames.

The bike below is a 1972 FLP that belongs to our departed bro’, O.R. Haines. The bike’s got an original foot clutch and hand shifter, along with a Mikuni 38mm carb and drag pipes. The rest of the bike is pretty much stock.

O.R. was in the process of rebuilding it when he died in April of 2001. He was replacing gaskets, seals, bushings, wiring, and whatever else it may have needed, and planned some new paint as well. He also added some very slick-looking light brown custom leather bags and a matching seat, but we've got no pics to share—sorry.

With regards to history, he purchased the scooter after it served 5 years as a Franklin County (Ohio) Sheriff’s bike.

To the right is Mike and his gorgeous panhead.  I’m trying to get him to send us more photos so we can do a feature. Let’s hope!

This 1997 FXSTS with factory custom paint is owned by Charlie Hanks of Richmond, VA.

Charlie's been riding since 1970.  He says, “I have enjoyed riding more since I purchased a Harley.”  If you have any bike photos you’d like to share with Charlie, send them to him at chanks@i2020.net.
