Dan's '68 Bronco Project: Ten Years+ After!

June 2005 Update

They say 90% of the work consumes 90% of your time, and the remain 10% consumes... the other 90% of the time. Since getting the Bronco in our garage, this is what's been done. Time, of course, is not a factor when it comes to labors of love.

I'm getting close!

I've also been able to put almost 1,000 miles on the truck. In a recent 200+ mile excursion that included interstate driving, I was pleasantly surprised to see the old Bronc got 20+ miles per gallon. Yes, this is NOT a typo. I was impressed. Not too shabby!

All I'd really like to do right now is replace the lower seal on the steering box as well as the transfer case's inspection cover gasket. In terms of maintenance, this is it—the truck needs nothing and has been a really fun rig.

The best part about this truck is that it is so unique, you NEVER pass yourself on the street. And the mountain of inquiries and compliments I get every time I take it out make the painful journey that's taken the truck from winter driver in 1990 to what it is today all worthwhile.

I'd have to say "mission accomplished" on this project!
