Sprint 350 SS Project

On this page you can see some of the final photos taken of this bike. These were the photos submitted to the Associazione Registro Storico Aermacchi (basically, the Aermacchi Historical Registry) in Milan, Italy.  In the Spring of 2006, the bike was accepted and I received the laminated certificate with assessment of what the Registry folks thought of the bike. While they groaned about the non-stock mufflers, and kinda whined about the non-stock upholstery (gimme a break!) and the fact that according to their records, black was never a factory color on Sprints SS350s destined for the USA (I find that VERY hard to believe) they gave it a rating of 4 out of a possible 5. NOT BAD!

Should I decide to go for the repro mufflers at $175 each, I might resubmit the bike and see if I qualify for a rating of "Ultimo" (the best.).  We'll see how badly I wanna see "ultimo" in the months ahead.

For now, this is the end of this 6+ year project.  I'm going to be getting back to the '74 over the winter months. I have been designing, planning, and scheming.  I have also met a great machinist who has already built me some cool aluminum parts I have designed, including a battery box and triangular covers for the frame.  I promise to do my best to get that project back on track.  It's gonna rule.

For now, enjoy the photos on this page.  As always, if you need any information, help, or guidance, drop me an e-mail.
