Winter of Life
by Biker Jer

His ride now silent and still

Winter’s here and now the chill

Snow, rain, wind and grey skies

Very sad, how fast summer dies.

What happened to the warm wind

Gone is the time with many a friend

No more leaning hard into a curve

No longer matters who has the nerve.

Plans have ceased for the next run

Summer is gone and so is the fun

Now, only bleak darkness is present

Summer, Oh, where has it went.

The iron horse is starting to rust

Gone is the biker and his trust

Cobwebs now adorn her sleek frame

Winter is here and it is not the same.

The summer has gone by ever so fast

Memories of love, a thing of the past

Autumn, a preview of things to come

Unto winter we all have to succumb.

The custom paint has begun to fade

So have the plans that the biker made

No longer will he feel a burst of power

Just gusty winds and a snow shower.

Times in our lives resemble each season

Winter is the end, it seems to reason

Fill your summer with more than a lot

Will this be your last winter or not.

Summer has not died alone

The biker, now under a stone

Summer will end, it certainly will

The bike and the biker, both lie still.
