The ported & polished Sportster iron heads on this page illustrate another example of the work we do to make your heads really work for youClick on the smaller images to enlarge them to see the details.

A few photographs can’t begin to describe the effort that goes into a set of QUALITY high performance motorcycle cylinder heads. If you have any questions about any of the work you see in the following photos, send us an e-mail at and we’ll try to answer them for you.

Photo #1: The first thing we do is polish the ports.  This is a view from the outside in.
Photo #2: Here's what that same port looks like from the inside out.
Photo #3: Let's talk performance: this our FIVE-angle valve job!
Photo #4: Cleaning up the gasket seating surface.
Photo #5: Whatever is removed from the gasket surface, must be removed from the counterbore — in this case it was .020 inch.
It takes about an hour to index a head and about 10 minutes to make the cut.
Photo #6: Once the heads are assembled, we ensure there will be no problems at maximum lift with the cam being used with the heads.
