Project Metamorphosis:
A Sportster for the New Millenium

Part 2: The final test assembly

Roland requested that we finish his scooter as soon as we could. This project was gonna be a quick one from the start, so we’ve got a second installment just a bit over a month after beginning the project. We’re rollin’!

At left is the bike sitting in our showroom, complete except for the fuel tank.

Soon after these shots were taken, the bike was stripped and sent out for powder coating and painting. The powder color used on the frame, lower fork legs, and other miscellaneous parts is a retina-searing yellow.  The sheetmetal will be yellow with wild graphics.

The bike got a D&D “Fat Katz” 3-inch stretched, one-piece tank, as shown at right.

Below is the final mock-up of the bike complete with tank and Porker shotgun exhaust system.

Here’s another shot from the rear. Way wide rubber, no?

All the parts should be back in about one month, and we’ll be starting final assembly, so don’t go far!
