| We started by stripping down the bike to the frame, and removed the
motor's jugs and heads for polishing. While this work was in progress,
Lee decided to change to a one-piece custom stretched fuel tank and have
Milwaukee Iron custom fabricate a front and rear fender for the bike. The
rear fender also received a frenched and hidden LED light bar that serves as
brake light, directional signals and running lights.
A side mount Paul Yaffe taillight was included to hold the license plate and provide additional brake lighting. With the addition of the new tank, a new gauge setup was needed... of course. To handle those needs, Lee chose a Dakota Digital HLY 6000 handlebar mount instrument cluster. The bars were changed to 1 ¼" Burly Tee Bars, too, which were capped off by a set of "swiss cheese" grips. A new Joker Machine headlight was added to go with the sleeker tank setup along with a pair of Joker Machine miniature front LED directionals to keep things slim up front. Just below, we added a twin finned, tubular oil cooler setup—sweet! Shown below, we added Joey Perse's "Gladiator" spiked caps to the axle ends both front and rear to give the bike a more aggressive appearance and to compliment the "Stiletto" wheels. There were other added touches, too, such as the Custom Billet coil mount with key housing, matching "swiss cheese" pegs and shifter arm, TP oil filter mount, Drag Specialties "Spear" air cleaner, and braided stainless steel cables and hoses. Now that we've shown you a few of the nifty small parts and customs touches that went into Lee's bike, you're probably curious to see see how the bike went together. Well, follow along! |
